Soi 38

Woo, a place that lives up to the hype. This is Soi 38, a Thai restaurant in Melbourne serving authentic street food that slaps you with flavour and chilli. It’s located inside a building but decorated to look like an underground garage, which gives it a cool humbling vibe.

Everything was good, and spicy! We thought we could handle our spice but Soi38 definitely turn up the heat. The menu is really big so I’m not going into detail on every dish. Most dishes cater to a punch-in-your-face umami, and there were a lot of dishes we hadn’t seen before at other Thai restaurants in Australia. They only serve 2 types of beers for alcohol.

Pick ingredients you like and trust the Thai flavour to smack you. P.s. The ox tongue was sooooo tender – recommend this dish!

We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
