Happyfield

Wow, wow, wow move aside McDonald’s, we have a cooler kid on the block. T took us to Happyfield in Haberfield for a catchup lunch on Saturday and asdfghagd wow, this cafe was amazing in every aspect: food, service, vibes, coffee.
We ordered two of the McMuffin, pancakes and hashbrown to mimick the McDonald’s happy meal 🤣, a Mac and Cheese and 5 coffees (the beans were worth the hyper activeness).

Drink

I’ll start with the coffee because what else do you go to a Cafe for? If you love coffee, you’d know that Five Senses are one of the best in the game and they’re very selective of the cafes they collaborate with so when we saw Happyfields collection, we knew we were about to have some of the best beans in Australia. My no sugar cappuccino was sooo smooth and well blended, it didn’t even taste bitter at all. We wished this cafe was located closer to home so we could get our daily hits from here 🥺.

Food

Ok let’s start with the game-changer, the McLovin’ Muffin, inspired by Super Size Me. OOOOOFT 😍. This tasted exactly like the McDonald’s version but more gourmet and healthy.

It was two chicken sausage patties, folded eggs, cheddar cheese, chipotle mayo with chicken ‘n’ herb salt. The patty was soo juicy, moist and flavourful. And despite being made of chicken, it tasted almost like the McDonald’s sausage version. The egg was fluffy and creamy and perfectly salted. The muffin was thick and airy, and the sprinkled chicken ‘n’ herb salt elevated the flavours to another level.

Look at Mick’s face. We were both mind blown 😆. This was $13.
The short stack were the fluffiest and softest pancakes of our lives. It was lightly coated in mild honey, accompanied by the beautiful Pepe Saya butter (if you know, you know 😏) and Canadian maple syrup. It was like cutting into melted butter, so friggin’ delicious for such a simple dish. This was $14.
The potato hash brown was a compacted soft potato with a perfectly crispy exterior. This was served with chilli mayo and was salted with the same to-die-for chicken ‘n’ herb seasoning 🤤. This was $5.
Finally, the special was the macaroni and cheese, served only as a Pasta of the Week. This was the first time we tried long ziti pasta and it was such an interesting texture. The pasta was soft and squiggly, coated in the sharp mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

We did have to add a teaspoon of fish sauce because we felt it was missing a salty, umami touch (the Asian in us needed it LOL). If it wasn’t for our diets, we would have finished it instantly but at least we got to eat Happyfield again the next day 😅.

Service

The service was extraordinary. I didn’t get her name but the Asian server was wonderful. She was so funny and enthusiastic about their food and Cafe. Even when I went to buy a kilo of coffee beans, the guy serving me was so passionate about the coffee and finding the right product for my enjoyment. We asked them if they would ever move west (so we could eat more) but they value their branding so I guess that means we’re doing more drives to Haberfield 🤣.

Review

We loved how vibrant and bright their yellow decor was. The only weird thing was watching the traffic/people in Haberfield because there were some cooked moments but it was good entertainment 🤣. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAPPYFIELD. Start your day right with a McLovin and a coffee.

As usual, thanks for reading and hope you have a happy time eating!
