Cuppa Flower

A took me out on a cute brunch date for my birthday and I’m so grateful for this wonderful friendship πŸ₯°. Growing older and Covid has made me realise I only need a handful of quality, supportive friends who are always keen to eat, travel and hang #blessed.

Food

This was the tempura soft shell crab croissant with fried eggs, fish roes and sriracha mayonnaise for $24.80.

The croissant had a crispy exterior and was airy on the inside. It had a mildly sweet taste. The eggs were very soft and sogged up the croissant bed. The sauce was mildly spicy. A ate all the chilli pieces for me so my basic palate could tolerate the spice πŸ˜‚. The only piece of coriander garnish brought a bitter freshness to my bite.
This was the king prawns pasta with linguine pasta, chilli garlic, onion sauce, roasted tomatoes and spinach for $22.80 on their lunch menu.

The pasta was in-between al dente and soft. There was a good amount of seafood and the portion was very generous. The creamy sauce hugged the pasta so you know they didn’t use oil in the cooking process. The prawns were fresh and bursting with umami flavour. A ate the prawn tails πŸ˜‚.
There were some cute cake rolls on display. I’m not too sure on the price since they’re not on the menu and A paid for these πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯°.

The black sesame cake roll was a little dry with moderate flavouring. Rated: 7.5 / 10.
The matcha cake roll was balanced, moist and light. It had a good amount of matcha flavouring. It was also creamier. Rated: 9 / 10.
The taro cake roll was a dense sponge with a mild taro flavour. It was a lot thicker in shape compared to the other two. The viola was a pretty touch. Rated: 8 / 10.

Drink

This was a butterfly pea drink. It was mildly sweet and very refreshing on this humid day.

Service

The staff were friendly and efficient. They were able to seat us within 15 minutes during peak hour on a Saturday with Covid restrictions.

Review

We thought it was a very cute cafe with tree stumps and flowers on display. The food had great presentation but taste-wise, it was only moderately good and nothing mind-blowing.

The vibe was chillaxing and perfect for the warm weekend. The only difficult thing was finding parking so this might deter our return. Otherwise, it was a fun experience 😁.

Thank you again, A, for the brunch date! πŸ˜˜πŸ’œ
And thanks for reading!
