Taste of Florence 2019

We ate a lot in the last 24 hours in Florence, Italy. From sculling a whole bottle of white wine to licking every gelato we could find, we left the city as two fat potatoes 🥔.

Trattoria Dall'Oste

After arriving from Rome, we had a feast at Trattoria Dall’Oste, including this 1.2kg T-bone steak 😍 I wrote a full review in a seperate post (LINK).

da Nerbone

Panini is an Italian sandwich, usually grilled or toasted. Yesterday morning, we visited da Nerbone for its 4.5/5 stars review and had a delicious Panino con bollito (beef sandwich).

This store is considered to be one of the best stores of all of Italy, popular with both locals and tourists. The queue for this sandwich was approx. 30 mins.

The bread was crunchy, and the inside of the bread was super soft. The beef was sooo tender and juicy. Just looking at this picture makes our mouths salivate 🤤. It was such a good snack for a few euros.

Random

Gelato! We tried to eat gelato every time we came across a random vendor. This particular ice cream was mango and vanilla and berrylicious, enjoyed by the river Arno. The ice cream was creamy and smooth, with no harsh ice texture. The cone had a nice, thin crunch, and did not get soggy. Italians know how to make good gelato alright 😏

Antica Porchetteria Granieri 1916

This beautiful snack was a porchetta panini by the famous Antica Porchetteria Granieri 1916. It was a savoury and fatty piece of boneless pork roast jammed inside the soft Italian bread, covered in a layer of pate 🤤🤤🤤

The pate was creamy and rich, with a subtle sweetness to it. This bite was so friggin good, like entering the gates of pig heaven and taking bites out of angelical piglets (sorry to any vegans reading) hehehe.

Fishing Lab Alle Murate

For dinner, we had seafood at Fishing Lab Alle Murate and the full review is here (LINK).
Thanks for reading! We had a great culinary time in Florence and we can’t wait to go back for another trip. Here is a picture of Mick waiting “patiently” for his porchetta 😙

P.S. He was drooling watching the chef slice the pig 👀
