Okayama is a city in the Chugoku region of Japan, known for the Koraku-en and as a hub to other cities, such as Kobe, Hiroshima, and Naoshimi Island. I found the city to be more quiet and empty, with not as many people in comparison to busier cities such as Kyoto or Tokyo.

Our Adventure
After travelling on the shinkansen from Hiroshima, and checking in to my hotel, I went out to see Okayama Castle on Saturday afternoon (LINK).
I was very lucky to see the last of the cherry blossoms on the trees. From the castle, it was a 30-minute walk around the outskirts and moat, to one of the three great parks of Japan, Koraku-en (LINK).
For dinner, I had a sashimi platter at a random restaurant. It was approx. ¥2300. Everything tasted so fresh and creamy 🤤.
Yesterday I headed out at 8 AM to Naoshima Island (LINK). It was a very long and exhausting day trip. The weather was cold and windy, so after returning from Naoshima, I headed to a shopping centre for a late lunch. Thankfully, there was a Gindaco in the food court 😍
Afterwards, I crashed at the hotel because the trip took a huge toll on my body. I had a nap and then realised I had to do laundry, so back out I went. There was a cute river outside the laundromat where I sat with my 7/11 egg sandwich and headphones, waiting for my clothes to be washed and dried.
I had another sashimi platter for dinner at a different restaurant because why not? 🤗
Today I’m on the way to Kobe (LINK). Of course, the weather had to be nice on the day I was leaving 🙄 LOL
