Belle and Senpai

Simulation Senpai is a take-home project created by Chase Kojima (chef at Sokyo) to deliver high-quality sashimi to those staying home during the pandemic. We had the originally released boxes of nigiri back in May (LINK) so we were super excited to try the sashimi boxes with our friends, N & A tonight.

On the way to picking up our fish, we grabbed a bucket of Belle’s Chicken southern fried chicken wings and Messina’s ice cream too. It was a great night of eating and playing Overcooked💕.

Just sharing photos of the dinner because the food was very delicious, we stuffed ourselves to the brim and I took too many photos hehe.
The fresh sashimi from Simulation Senpai looked so good 😍
This first box was the hoseki bako at $55 each. This box is considered the ‘treasure box from the sea’ and includes 15 pieces of sashimi over masshigura steamed riced 🤤. Some of the items we had were toro, tuna, sea urchin, salmon roe, and tartar of tuna and salmon. The seafood was very luxurious, fresh and creamy.
This was the tuna sashimi box for $35. It had 12 pieces of tuna sashimi and tartar. Due to the Covid pandemic, Australia was unable to export fishes to Japan and instead, sold them to local businesses like Simulation Senpai, allowing us to get a taste of Japan from the comfort of our homes, woo 🙆🏻‍♀️!
This was the Tasmanian salmon box for $32. It had 8 thick slices of salmon and 4 slices of fatty salmon belly. N demolished this box 😂. It was so good and creamy.
This little box was the hoseki bako sashimi box for $52. Mick was worried there was not enough fish to go around and it was a good thing he purchased an extra box because we smashed all the seafood and most of the chicken wings 🤭 #gluttony
We got the baller bucket of 16 fried chicken wings, 4 sides and 4 sauces for $65. We were so glad we spontaneously decided to buy extra food because those wings were to die for 🤤.

The batter was perfectly fried and crispy with no dripping oils. It had an addicting spice covering its body. The meat was so juicy and tender. It was very satisfying gnawing on the bones.

For our sides, we picked potato and gravy, mac and cheese, coleslaw and pickles. All of them were delicious. We smashed it.
Thanks for having us over N & A 🥰🥰🥰

And thanks for reading. Happy eating!
