Seafood-19

With the whole world on lockdown due to a rampant virus, restaurants had to take a new approach on the way they served food. In Sydney, Sokyo chef Chase Kojima took on the creative idea of doing take home sashimi and nigiri (Simulation Senpai).

When the laws loosened up in NSW and we were allowed 5 guests at home, we invited A & T over for a seafood FEAST on 9th May 2020. I’m gonna share the pics here because I enjoy salivating over my own photos 🀣.
What we ordered:

  • 4 sashimi platters from Simulation Senpai
  • Party platter and a mackerel from Osaka Bar
  • 2 dozen fresh oysters
  • 1 kg of salmon sashimi
Total price = $400+ between 4 because we were hungry fucks who were deprived of fresh seafood and wanted to devour to our heart’s content πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ.
Yummmmmm. Some freshly shucked oysters with a squirt of lemon. A classic appetizer for all fine dining. We love oysters and they’re soooo good when eaten raw.
This party platter from Osaka Bar was a real mix of raw and cooked seafood. There were creamy and sweet sashimi blended in with the subtle saltiness of roe and mackerel, laid upon a soft and fluffy rice bed. This was really fun to pick at.
The team at Simulation Senpai and Chef Kojima are magicians. EVERY SINGLE PIECE WAS SO FRIGGEN GOOD 😍😍😍. It was definitely the freshest seafood, picked out and handled with perfection, cut and prepared delicately in this beautiful wooden takeout box. I was rolling balls every single time I brought a piece to my tongue.

It was sensuous.
It was incredible.

And after watching how sashimi and nigiri are made on YouTube, my new appreciation for raw Japanese seafood elevated these flavours to new heights and reverberated the sensations into the depths of my stomach.

I’m describing heaven but yo, once you eat this delicious platter and good fucking sashimi, nigiri and sushi, you’ll understand why I sound like I’m describing an orgasm 🀣. Also, thanks #foodwars.
This was such a fun night. Thank you for the drunken memories and the seafood babies. We were zoned out in a food coma for 14 hours hahaha.

Happy eating!
