Foodhallen is a large hall located inside old tram sheds filled with food stands. It’s a great place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, for anyone looking for a variety of options to eat from, especially when one is high as a kite 😏.
We hired bikes and rode our way from our hotel to Foodhallen. We found the only difficult thing about this was finding a spot to park our bikes. All the streets nearby were filled with parked bicycles and there were heaps of “no stopping” zones. To avoid getting a hefty parking fine, we parked our bikes a distance away and walked 15 minutes to the entrance of the hall. This was around noon today.
There were heaps of stalls to choose from, including Spanish cured meats to poke bowls to British style pies. We helped ourselves to the bar and a cute cheese and prosciutto platter. Comparing the quality of food to Sydney, we have to say the food was on par.
Unfortunately, the prices were higher than home, as these two dishes were about 12 euros each (equivalent to $17 AUD). For a food stall, we wouldn’t say it was “cheap”, like Asian night food markets, but it was definitely a great experience 😁.

I wish we took more photos. The vibe of this place was chill and relaxed and it would have been a great place to hang if we were high on edibles. We would definitely come back next time to try all the foods here.
