Bagels Baby

Melbourne is the city of sandwiches and bakeries, and we have found another bagel shop that has been a revisit. This is Bagels Baby, a small family-owned business in Pascoe Vale.

Food

This was brisket & swiss for $17.50. It was their house-made brisket, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, sauerkraut and Westmont pickles. The brisket was soooo tender, pulling apart easily. The flavour was amazing. The pickled vegetables and spicy sauce was the perfect balance to the savoury brisket too.

Comparing the bagel from Mile End (LINK), these bagels were much more fluffy and soft, with a thinenr crust that made the overall mouthfeel more enjoyable.
This was the chicken katsu for $17.50, a panko crumbed schnitzel, lettuce, tonkatsu sauce and Kewpie mayonnaise bagel. The chicken was well tenderized, leaving a juicy and flavourful meaty centre with the crispiest panko batter we’ve had in a long while. It was complimented well with the refreshing salad, savoury-umami tonkatsu and the creamy mayo. And of course, the unique signature of the bagel texture and flavour elevated the bite.
This was miso mushroom for $16.50. It was house-marinated King Oyster mushroom, pickled vegetable slaw and ranch dressing. The mushroom had a savoury texture similar to meat. It was delicious, slightly on the blander side but still delicious for a vegan bagel.

Service

The staff are very friendly and the service have been quick during both our visits.

Review

We really love the bagels here so yes, this will be a revisit spot. Also, this spot is close to home so that makes it easier for us.

Thanks for reading. Happy eating!
