Novotel Paris Les Halles

In March 2019, we visited Paris and stayed at the Novotel Paris Les Halles for 4 nights. We booked with our Qantas points through the hotel’s website.

Disclosure: We want to share our hotel experiences with details and honesty since there is a lot of sponsored/fake content out there. Also, we might re-book a place and this helps us remember where we stayed 😂. Our photos were taken on our Sony RX100V and we did not use a wide-angle lens.

Location

This Novotel was located in district 1 of Paris, right next door to Châtelet–Les Halles, a major train station with both RER and metro connections. It took us 8 minutes to walk to the Louvre. We found it very convenient for dropping off our shopping or changing into another outfit for the weather change. This was the view from our window (the glass panels is the roof of the station).

Room

Bed: It was nice, firm-soft queen-sized bed, giving us plenty of good snoozes.

Cleanliness: It was very tidy. We didn’t find any stains but the room was fairly old, which was expected for a city like Paris.
Space: There was a lot of space for us to move around. Since we were staying for more than 3 nights, we decided to unpack our belongings into the cupboards.

Noise: Minimal, we slept well. Mick said he could hear the occasional noise from outside but it didn’t bother his light-sleeping butt. We did keep the window open on some nights.

Air-conditioning: This was our only issue. It kept playing up and the temperature and stuffiness of the room kept fluctuating. Mick had to constantly get up to change the air conditioning or open/close the windows during the night. It was a little frustrating trying to warm our clothes up, after doing a load of laundry as we felt there was not much ventilation in the room.

Technology: We liked that the power points were by the bedside. Wifi was fast. TV had some interesting channels.
Bathroom: It was very spacious. The nozzle for the shower was strong and massaging on our backs. I loved the mirror light – it was great for putting on makeup.

Extras: I loved the view, even though Eiffel was not in sight, so I conducted many mini photoshoots while Mick napped 😂.

Amenities: The gym had a lot of basic equipment but not enough to get a full workout. There was probably 10 machines in total. But it was open 24/7.

Another nice feature of the Les Halles location is this big igloo in the courtyard. They set up fairy lights and a virtual fireplace, creating a really romantic and cosy garden for guests to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine. When we ordered at the bar inside, the staff brought out our cocktails and peanuts to the igloo.
This is an extreme edited photo of us in the igloo 🤣 I was bored.
