Pho Co Hien

We have found our favourite chicken pho spot in Melbourne. Pho Co Hien is a small eatery in St Albans, and while they do have some other dishes on the menu, chicken pho and variations of this is their specialty. It was full (7 tables) on a Monday afternoon.

Food

We got the combination half a chicken with 2 bowls of pho for $47. The reason their chicken pho was sooo delicious was because they use free range chicken in their stock.

The half chicken platter was tender and flavourful all throughout the centre. The pho broth was a depth of chicken flavour, with soft rice noodles and herbs. We also got Youtiao and egg drop soup (free). The youtiao was fresh and crispy, with a chewy centre. Everything about this meal was perfect.

Service

The service is typical of a Vietnamese restaurant. We do not recommend using the bathroom. It’s very dingy, reminding us of countryside Vietnam.

Review

This was such a niche delicious find and yes, we will return.

Thanks for reading. Happy eating!
