Luong Son, Vietnam 2019

My grandma lives in Luong Son, a small town in Binh Thuan Province. It is usually a 6-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City airport. The last few days my family were kind enough to take me on some mini-adventures, other than working the shop and farm (something I would normally do in the past 😂).
This is our newest member of the family, Sue. She’s a year old and really clumsy.
This is my grandparents home/shop. The front of the house sells cement, paints, tiles and other items for renovating, and when you walk through past the shop, you’d get our kitchen, dining space and some bedrooms.

The cement blocks in the middle of the road were put up to prevent people from doing illegal u-turns because the road expanded in recent years, and that meant trucks and cars were going faster than ever (up to 100km/hr) so when the motorbikes did u-turns freely, they were at risk of an accident.
Luong Son is a 20-minute drive from the beach and one of our favourite things to do is head on down to this seafood restaurant and eat as many fresh swimmer crabs as possible 🤤.
My auntie took me to the sand dunes for an exhilarating ride. Imagine sitting on this buggy car, with no seat-belts, holding on to dear life as the driver goes perpendicular down steep sand dunes… It was a bit unsafe but I loved the adrenaline rush 🤣.
My grandma fed me way too much food during my visit 🥰 (LINK).
I also had a lot of street food 🤤.
This was the view from the top of my auntie’s house, across the road from my grandma.
We went out for some grilled prawns, snails and beef. These are typical dishes you would eat while drinking alcohol with friends, called nhậu in Vietnamese.
I had an áo dài designed for me and when it was completed, my grandma insisted on doing a mini photoshoot 🥰😂

Thanks for reading 💛.
