Lune Croissanterie

Lune Croissanterie is famous for its freshly served croissants 🥐.

There are two stores in Melbourne and both are not a cafe-style place. The croissants are served as a takeaway or to eat on-the-go. When we visited the CBD location in 2018, there was a bench for everyone to stand around if they choose to stay and eat, but only 7 people can fit comfortably.

The almond croissant was a delicious original croissant aux Amandes, prepared with almond frangipane, baked twice, and garnished with flaked almonds. It was soft and melted in our mouths. The outer edges had a slight crispy crunch and the almond flakes made for a more interesting texture. The powdered sugar added a touch of sweetness to a very delicious breakfast snack.

The ham & gruyere croissant, a classic ham and cheese croissant filled with shaved ham, swiss Gruyere and seeded mustard. The texture was soft with a slight outer crunch. We had this croissant while fresh and 4 hours later, and both times it still tasted amazing. It was more pricey, for $9.10 AUD, but Lune does claim the spot of ‘best croissants in Melbourne’ so it’s worth a boujie taste.

REVIEW

We loved the croissants. If we lived in Melbourne, this would be our weekly treat. The price of Lune was reasonable, about $6 a croissant. They only do card payments, which is really good in this technology age. We found the service was great.

Highly recommend! Happy eating 🥐
