Co Do

We’re Vietnamese so of course we had to find a good local spot for all our cravings, when we’re too lazy to cook the food ourselves. Co Do is located in Sunshine, and offers an extensive menu of soups, fried foods, banquets and snacks.

We’ve been in Melbourne 2 months and have already been back 3 times lol.

Food

This is the bun rieu for $17. It was a hearty bowl, full of umami flavouring and all the right ingredients: tofu, shredded crab, fish cake, pork loaf, tomatoes, noodles, toppings.
This was fried rice. Do not get. We thought it was like burnt rice, an “poor person” dish, where you get crispy wok-fried rice with scallions, fried onions and oil, but this was not the same.
The banh bot loc $12 was a 20 minute wait, made freshly steamed with the perfect amount of rice cake, dried prawns and fried shallots.
The banh beo $12 was also a 20 minute wait, and one of the best and freshest we’ve had. The accompanying fish sauce was perfect.
The com tam $17 was really good too, but the fish sauce and pickled vegetables were lacking. We prefer Tan Thanh Loi more.

Service

The service is what you would expect in an Asian restaurant.

Review

We would return for the banh beo, banh bot lot, bun rieu and bun bo hue for sure.

Thanks for reading. Happy eating!
