CDMX

It’s so hard to find a good Mexican restaurant in Australia so when we found out about CDMX, we ran. This is a vibrant taco and tequila spot with a variety of delicious foods. We only dined here as a snack for this review.

Food

We started with an elote for $8. This was a char-grilled corn cob with anejo cheese, chipotle mayo, lime and house spice mix. The spices and citrus complemented the sweetness of the corn so well.
This was one of their most popular items: tuna tostada for $14. It was a miso-citrus marinated tuna, chipotle mayo, sesame, crispy leek on a corn tostada. The tuna was not a fatty cut, and the miso marinade washed away its subtle sweetness so the flavour was not all there for this bite. It was a tad bland, but a fresh and slightly-umami bite.
The ceviche tostada for $15 was also another popular dish and a much better item. It was lime cured kingfish, pico de gallo, house mayo salsa on a corn tostada. It was refreshing, with pops of sweetness and sharpness that elevated the fish.
These churros were some of the best churros we’ve had. For $16, you get 4 sugar cinnamon dusted churros with house made cajeta caramel sauce. It was crunchy, sweet, and had an airy centre. The sauce had a subtle saltiness with the caramel.

Service

The vibes and fit out of the restaurant was immaculate. We did dine at 4pm so this is why it looks so empty. The service was friendly and fantastic.
