Bare Witness

Bare Witness is our go-to spot for “brunch” food. What attracts us to this cafe in Rhodes is the scenic view, space and layout, interior design and variety in food. We visit every 4 months or whenever we crave ‘cafe’ food if we wake up early enough ๐Ÿ˜†.

This was the oriental seafood pasta of linguine, tossed in lobster bisque, with garlic, eschalot, chilli, mussels, scallops, prawns and crab meat for $22. The pasta was really soft with a slight bounciness to it. We loved the umami flavouring of this dish.

The pieces of sliced chilli only added a slight zing, making it tolerable for those with a lil-bitch palate, such as myself ๐Ÿ˜…. The seafood was well cooked and plentiful. The portion of this dish was huge so it was a great value for money.
This was the shakshuka baked eggs with spiced baked eggs with slow-cooked pulled pork, beans, minced chorizo, tomatoes, feta, capsicum, chickpeas, pistachio, dukkah & grilled Lebanese bread for $22. There is a gluten-free option for this dish. The sauce was savoury and blended well with the bread. We loved the simplicity and egg porn in this dish.

(P.S. I’ll try to update this post with the other dishes. We’ve eaten most of them but I never bring my camera because it has always been a last-minute-decision ๐Ÿ˜…)

review

Every time we’ve finished eating here, we end up unbuttoning our pants and going for a stroll along the river to soak in some vitamin D.

Thanks for reading. Happy eating!
