Nara Park

Nara is a city of Japan, and a popular tourist attraction, known for its wild deer who love to come up to tourists (with snacks) and bow their heads. The deer are mostly friendly, doing their own thing and greeting tourists when they’re hungry, but there have been stories of greedy deer rushing towards the snack pile.

For a day trip, many people will stay in Osaka or Kyoto and travel out to Nara for a few hours. We did that today and here are some snapshots 🦌.
There was a shopping mall next to the station. After exiting the station, we crossed the road and turned left towards Nara Park, where the deer congregated. Along the way, there were food vendors selling the deer biscuits for ¥150.
A lot of the deer bowed their heads 3 times when we held our biscuit long enough.
And I got to “kiss” some of the deer 😆
We also visited the Todai-ji Temple with the largest statue of Buddha in the world (LINK).
