Hotel XO Couture

This past weekend we visited Amsterdam, Netherlands and stayed at Hotel XO Couture, Delflandlaan for five nights. We booked through Bookings.com.

Disclosure: We want to share our hotel experiences with details and honesty since there is a lot of sponsored/fake content out there. Also, we might re-book a place and this helps us remember where we stayed ๐Ÿ˜‚. Our photos were taken on our Sony RX100V and we did not use a wide-angle lens.

Location

The hotel was located 25 mins via tram to the city centre. The tram stop was right outside and we hopped on Line No. 2 to get to Dam (one of the major tourist areas of Amsterdam). We didn’t mind the commute because it gave us a chance to see the suburban areas and Van Gogh was along the way, so we never felt like we were going out of our way to see the attractions.

Room

Bed: Firm with a slight soft bounce. We are picky sleepers who enjoy our Koala mattress. This bed did a great job giving us deep sleep.

Cleanliness: Daily cleaning offered. We rated it 10/10

Space: Not big enough to leave our suitcase opened on the floor. We actually organised everything into the closets (first time we did that!). There was enough space to move about and dry our clothes on the furniture.
Noise: Soundproof. We were able to sleep through till 12pm with no issues.

Air-conditioning: We were able to control the temperature of our room all night. We did not feel stuffy during our sleep.

Technology: TV showed local content. Wifi was fast.
Bathroom: Lighting was really good for makeup application. Lots of space in the bathroom to move about.

Extras: They provided soaps, shower caps, coffee and tea (for free). โ€‹

Amenities: We did not check out what they had to offer. We did hire our bikes through them. I believe they have a 24/7 reception. You can also purchase your transport tickets at the vending machines in the lobby. The check-in and check-out process were quick and smooth.

Dolce

Let’s be honest, Amsterdam is all about the weed and munchies. For two of our meals, we went to Dolce, the restaurant located downstairs to the hotel. They offered room service too.
There was a lot of variety of food available. It was reasonably priced and we rated it 7/10 in taste and quality. The only dish we found that stood out was the pumpkin soup. It was very creamy and flavourful. It was a great way to help our hangovers.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. If we ever return to Amsterdam, we would book here again.
Thanks for reading! ๐Ÿ˜„
