We might have left Bankstown 2200 but it doesn’t mean we don’t crave a late kebab every quarter. Katik Turkish is a tiny shop in Campbellfield that was popping during the lunch rush, and serves the best Turkish bread we’ve ever eaten. The hype is real here.
Food
This iskender $17 was sooo delicious! 🤤 We got lamb and every piece was tender and flavourful, sitting on top the most pillow-y and chewy turksih bread ever. It had a mouthfeel similar to mochi. Complemented by the yogurt and sourness of the tomato-based sauce, it was one of the cheapest and filling dishes. Definitely a WOW
This is an adana wrap for $13. There was a good balance of meat and salads, and everything was really tender.
This sucuk and egg pide for $12 was lit! The pide was perfectly charred, with soft chewy centres. The sucuk spice slapped, and the egg was creamy. We tried one and had the rest as leftovers the next day – it was still delicious after a quick air fry.
Service
It was probably because I unwrapped our adana like an idiot, that one of the boss gave us extra attention and service LOL. To be fair, we were the only Asians in the shop so we definitely looked out of place. But amazing and fast service from the team.
Review
Dare we say, this kebab spot was better than Bankstown 😂. We will definitely be back.
