Dessous

This is a Thai-fusion semi-casual-fancy restaurant in Melbourne CBD. It was starting to trend on Instagram when our friend picked it. Unfortunately we were all intoxicated so we didn’t eat much, but these were the items we ordered.

food

Started with these oysters with fermented chilli dressing for $6.50 each. Refreshing and creamy.
These Potato rosti, larb spiced tuna tartare for $11 were amazing. The bread was soft and chewy, with the right amount of crispiness to the skin. The seasoning on the tuna was in-your-face yummy.
This was the Abrolhos island scallop with caramelised pork cheek and finger lime for $12. Simple and delicious – nothing outstanding.
The roasted bone marrow was rich and silky, complemented by fragrant Thai herbs and sticky rice. It was $24
The ox tongue skewer was tender and smokey, paired with a crisp green papaya and tomatoes salad, with crushed peanuts for $22.
The steamed duck leg for $35 was incredibly tender, absorbing the bright, zesty depth of the pickled lime broth. Paired with soft winter melon, the dish felt both comforting and refreshingly vibrant. Our favourite dish of the night.

Service

The service was great: attentive and quick with all our cocktail orders.

Review

We want to return to this restaurant and try their other dishes.
Thanks for reading. Happy eating!
