A1 Bakery

A1 Bakery in Brunswick stands out as a beloved Lebanese institution, drawing crowds with the aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries. The bustling spot had become a go-to for manoush, pies, and a warm sense of community, so when we saw the constant flow of people, we knew we had to try it.

Food

The foul moudammas $14.50 had been a hearty mix of faba beans and chickpeas, lifted by lemon, garlic, tahini, and a drizzle of olive oil. It was served with pickles and soft pita, making it a simple yet satisfying dish.
We got two falafels to try, served alongside pita for about $7. The batter was crispy, and it was very filling. The yogurt dip was a loose consistency.
The sujuk pizza for $11.50 was topped with spicy Turkish beef sausage, halloumi, tomato, and capsicum. A sprinkle of herbs rounded out the flavours, creating a rich and savoury bite.
The chicken tawouk wrap for $14 was bursting with flavour, with the marinated chicken grilled to juicy perfection. The crunch of chips and tangy pickles balanced beautifully with the creamy garlic paste. Each bite had been hearty, comforting, and absolutely delicious.

Review

This was one of the best Lebanese / Arabic restaurants we’ve been to in Melbourne so far so yes, we would probably return whenever we’re missing Sydney.

Thanks for reading. Happy eating.
